Class 8(1) In a combined suction cleaner nozzle and brush comprising one or more slotted suction inlets 4, 5 Fig. 2, rigid with the brush body 1 Fig. 1 and combined to the outside of one or more edges of an area occupied by the bristles curry pins and the like the free ends of the clusters 15 project below the suction inlets 4, 5 and are so disposed that in use they alone provide a constant gap between the surface being cleaned and the said suction inlets. The brush body has a central aperture 2 about which is clipped an annular plate 14 of a suction pipe 22 and has a collar 13 projecting about half-way down and contacting the rear portion of the outer row 17 of bristles. In a modification a clothes brush comprises a lower portion 32 Fig. 6 providing a bristle plate 33 having slots 40, 41 along both long sides divided by spacers 42 (not shown) and having a suction outlet tube 34 (not shown), and an upper portion 35 which is vulcanized to the lower portion along a rim 43 after the bristles have been set to form an air duct 36 leading to the tube 34. In a further modification a brush body 52, Fig. 7, of resilient material has an internal groove 53 in which is located a bristle carrier 50 in front of suction inlets 54 separated by bridges 56 which also serve to support the front wall 55 of the brush body. The ends 57 of the clusters 51 may be arched or rounded at the front and rear edges and projejct about 1 centimetre below the common edge 59 of the suction inlets.
