Abstract

752,966. Telescopic sight mountings for firearms. WEAVER, W. R. June 18 1954 No. 17977/54. Class 119 A mounting for a telescopic sight comprises a split tubular bracket 40, Fig. 6. clamped on the sight by a screw 43 and having an integral depending leg 44 formed with an inturned lip 45 and a plate 48 with inturned lips 49, 50 formed along its upper and lower margins, the lip 49 engaging in longitudinal channel 47 in in the bracket and the lips 45, 50 engaging in longitudinal grooves 51, 53 in the barrel 52 or in a base plate secured to the top of the barrel, a clamping bolt 54 engaging the leg 44 and plate .48 to urge them together and clamp the bracket 40 to the barrel. In a modification, Fig. 3, one flange 14 of the split tubular bracket 10 is formed with an inwardly turned extension 20 which comprises the integral leg engaging with its lip 23 in the groove 33 in the barrel.
