759,920. Ball joints. LILLEY & SON, Ltd., S. Oct. 7, 1954 [Oct. 19, 1953], No. 28730/53. Class 65 (2). [Also in Group XXII] A universal joint of the kind comprising a casing 1 with a seating at one end for a ball 7, a seating washer 5 axially movable in the casing, and a helical spring 3 bearing on the washer and on a shoulder in the casing is produced by assembling the parts with the casing in the form of a tube, and then forming the seating while the ball is pressed down on the spring. In the form shown, the shoulder is provided by a sleeve 2 screwed into the casing, but it may be integral with the casing.
