Abstract

749,003. Wall panels walls; floors; roofs. COULTER, H. G. Feb. 4,1954 [Dec. 15, 1952], No. 31774/52. Classes 20(1), 20(4) and 87(1). A wall panel comprises vertical wood members 1, 2 having grooves 3 formed in their abutting faces, the members being interengaged and arranged in staggered relation and secured together at the top and bottom by horizontal tie members. The panels are of storey height and are secured together by grooved post members 5, 6. Some of the members 1, 2 are extended at the top of the panel to engage with roof beams and at the bottom thereof, to engage with floor beams. Some of the members 1, 2 may be cut away to provide window spaces. In a modification, the end members 1, 2 are of half size with a groove only on their inner faces. The roof or floor includes main beams consisting of joists 31 secured together in spaced relation by plywood strips 39, and cross-beams consisting of joists 32 engaged between the joists 31. Plasterboard 35 and a roof covering material 36 are added for the roof.
