Abstract

747,690. Dispensing measured quantities. DAVIS, W. T. Sept. 23, 1954 [Oct. 8, 1953], No. 27715/53. Class 106(5) A measuring device comprises a commodity container 1 including a shoot 4 which terminates above the base of the container in which base is formed a delivery opening 15, a trough 7 having a pivotal base 8 and slidable in the container beneath the shoot, and means 14 for supporting the trough within the container, the arrangement being such that the trough receives a measured quantity from the shoot and is then moved away from the shoot so that the base 8 drops by gravity to deliver the measured quantity to the opening 15. The trough is operated by a push button 9 and is returned to the charging position by a spring. An indicator 13 operated by a flap 12 which rests on top of the commodity indicates the level of the latter. The commodity may be contained in a separate holder supported in the container 1 which has a pivoted lid 2.
