[Also in Group XXI] In a hydraulically-actuated scoop arm tractor attachment, the implement which may be a loading bucket, a bull-dozing tool, a hook or a platform, but is shown as a lifting fork, is attached to a single arm pivotally mounted at one side of the tractor. As shown the fork 13 is mounted on a braced arm 11, which is pivoted on the horizontal member of a U-. shaped frame 19 secured to the rear axle casing 18. A sub-frame 14, attached to the tractor at 15, 17, carries a bracket 28 in which are mounted trunnions 27 on the pistonrod 25, the cylinder 24 being provided with an adjustable external sleeve having a radial pin 30 which engages a bore in the arm 11. To prevent the loaded fork from tilting the tractor it extends laterally from the arm so that its centre-of-gravity is in a vertical plane passing through the longitudinal axis of the tractor. In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), the arm 11 is telescopically arranged in a tubular member pivoted to the rear axle casing and having a series of holes, corresponding with a series of holes in the arm, which allow the arm and tubular member to be locked in a number of positions of adjustment; the cylinder being operatively connected with the tubular member and a forward position on the arm by adjustable turnbuckle links. In another modification the arm is constructed from a pair of interconnected plates between which the cylinder passes and to which the cylinder is pivoted by trunnions. In a further modification the pivoted connection between the arm and cylinder is effected by means of a bracket on the underside of the arm and a pin secured to the upper end of the cylinder.
