Abstract
Solid deposits are removed from metallic moulds for moulding glass by submitting the deposit through the intermediary of an external liquid medium to supersonic vibrations of a vibratory energy of at least 0.5 watts per sq. cm. of the mould to be treated. Vibrations of a frequency of 16,000 to 50,000 cycles per second may be produced by magneto-striction. The liquid may react chemically with the deposit Specification 702,381 is referred to.
