Abstract

708,936. Paper making machine felts. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. May 12, 1952 [June 6, 1951], No. 13392/51. Class 96 Paper-making machine felts &c. are made with 5 to 100 per cent. of filaments of at least one highly polymerized polymethylene terephthalate, e.g. polyethylene terephthalate of a melting point above 240‹C. Wool and/or other fibres may be present. The polyester filaments' may be in the warp or weft, but some should be at the surface of the felt. Felts of up to 100 per cent. or polyester filaments can be made full by heating by inert fluid, infra-red lamps or by high-frequency currents, to nearly 200‹C. Specifications 609,794, 610,096, [Group IX], and 610,171 are referred to.
