Abstract

682,633. Clip brackets. REYROLLE & CO., Ltd., A., and, MORDUE, H. Aug. 20, 1951 [Aug. 21, 1950], No. 20661/50. Class 52(v) [Also in Groups XXV and XXXVI] A supporting cleat is made from two identical parts which together encircle a pipe A and which may be secured together without the use of additional parts. Each half of the cleat may comprise a semi-cylindrical web B<SP>3</SP> having a pair of outwardly-bent flanges B<SP>4</SP> and a pair of lugs B<SP>1</SP>, B<SP>2</SP> extending radially outwards from opposite ends of the web B<SP>3</SP>, the lugs B<SP>2</SP> being longer than the lugs B<SP>1</SP>. The central portion of the web is provided with a hole B<SP>5</SP> pushed out to countersunk shape. One half of the cleat is screwed to a wall, the pipe A positioned therein, and the other half of the cleat placed over the pipe. The lugs B<SP>2</SP> are then bent over to fit tightly around the lugs B<SP>1</SP>. A modified form of cleat for supporting a bar of rectangular cross-section is also described.
