Abstract
689,649. Vehicle wheels. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd. Aug. 1, 1951 [Aug. 19, 1950], No. 2087/50. Class 144 (i). In a wheel having a rim 1 with fixed and detachable tyre-retaining flanges 2, 4, respectively, equi-spaced spokes, shown formed of strip metal, are welded to the rim and adapted at their inner ends, as by means of bolt-holes, for attachment to an axle-assembly. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the inner ends of the spokes 6 abut with tongue-and-groove joints 8. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the spokes 15 taper radially and their inner ends are also spaced.
