Abstract

689,638. Resilient gear wheels. METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. April 4, 1951 [May 31, 1950], No. 13644/50. Class 80 (ii). A resilient gear wheel comprises hub and rim portions 1, 10 connected through rubber, " Neoprene " &c. rings 7 between coned surfaces 6, 8, the inner, surfaces 6 being formed on annuli 5 clamped axially to a flange 3 on the hub by bolts 4, the axial movement of the annuli when assembling the gear serving to compress the rubber &c. rings. The rubber &c. rings may be bonded to either or both of the coned surfaces 6, 8. Air passages 11 facilitate cooling.
