Abstract

689,422. Cutting-apparatus. ROUNSIVELL, W. A. May 18, 1951.. [Jan. 24, 1951] No. 1868/51. Class 31 (i). [Also in Group XVII] In apparatus for cutting lengths from a roll 6 of corrugated cardboard or other sheet material of the kind comprising a carriage A movable along a slideway 2 and having mounted thereon a disc cutter 7 which is rotated as the carriage is moved along the slideway, by a handle 12 or mechanically, the edge of the cutter cooperating with the edge 4 of a cutter bar 3, and the slideway and cutter bar being mounted in a framework 1, the cutter is rotated by means of a flexible cable 13 anchored at opposite ends of the framework and passing round a boss 14 fast with the cutter and round idler pulleys 15. The cutter is pressed against the edge 4 by means of a spring 9 the pressure of which is adjustable by means of a screwed plug 10.
