Abstract

<PICT:0685637/III/1> An apparatus for lining pipes with cementitious material by the Tate process, comprises a piston-like reaction member or baffle adapted to be positioned in the pipe at successive points in advance of the cementitious material and lining tool whereby back pressure is provided to force the material round the lining tool and into position as a lining for the pipe. The Tate process consists of drawing through the pipe a lining tool after having first inserted in the pipe an amount of cement, so leaving on the internal wall a layer of cement of the required thickness. Referring to the drawings, the lining tool a with the usual grinder devices c, d, and haulage cable f is preceded by baffle member comprising spaced discs h, h1 braced by pillars i and reinforcing plates j, j1 with central apertures k large engough to allow the lining tool haulage cable to pass therethrough.
