Abstract

672,455. Spray carburetters. TRIUMPH WERKE NURNBERG AKT.-GES . May 19, 1950 [July 13, 1949], No. 12588/50. Class 7(iii) In a carburetter having two mixture outflow passages 19, 20 and a slide valve 6 controlling air intake ports 3, 4 and provided with an axial Venturi-shaped passage 7, the lower end of the valve 6 fits closely into the end 21 of the passage 19 whereby the passage 20 is closed until the valve 6 has been raised a predetermined amount. A filter 5 surrounds the air intake ports 3. 4, the ports 4 being closed by the valve 6 when it is in its lowest position. The fuel is metered by a needle 12 carried by the valve 6 and is sprayed through an annular slot 16. Openings 23 in the lower part of the valve 6 permit a limited flow of mixture from passage 19 to passage 20 when the passage 20 is closed by the valve 6.
