Abstract
678,293. Struts for scaffolding &c. CAPRA, E. B. Aug. 29, 1949 [Jan. 10, 1949]. No. 22378/49. Class 20(ii) [Also in Group XXV] A multiple point connector for connecting together the ends of braces which converge to a point or which intersect one another in the same plane for use with coupling members of the kind described in Specification 676,887, [Group XXVIII], comprises a through member and one or more connector members pivotally connected at one end to the through member at an angle thereto, the ends of the through member and the free end of each connector member being formed wtih spaced ridges or ribs to coact respectively with the ribs or ridges on the inner surface of a coupling member. As shown in Fig. 2, the strut members 2, which have ribbed ends, may be connected, by means of the members 4, 5 which form the coupling member referred to, to the grooved ends 22 of a tube 10 and to the grooved ends 22 of connectors F which are pivotally mounted between flanges 11 on the central portion of the tube 10 and between brackets 14 mounted externally on the flanges 11 and tube 10. An embodiment for use with struts which lie in the same plane, Fig 3, comprises a member 32 which passes pivotally through a rigid connector 30 and which has open ends adapted to pivotally receive connectors F.
