Abstract

676,789. Preparation of paper pulp. KLEMM, K. H. Aug. 22, 1949 (Oct. 16, 1948], No. 21737/49. Class 96. In the continuous manufacture of paper from half stuff which varies in consistency &c. the half stuff is first separated into relatively fine and coarse constituents, e.g. using a sieve with 0.7 mm. diameter holes, and the two constituents are re-mixed in such proportions as will give a web formed therefrom a satisfactory wet strength. Such re-mixing may be effected using a plurality of concentrating machines and varying the streams thereto. Paper may thus be made from mechanical wood pulp without adding cellulose.
