Abstract

648,987. Hinges. O'SHEI, W. E. Feb. 19, 1948, No. 4876. [Class 65(ii)] [Also in Group XXXII] A vehicle driving mirror is mounted in a frame 11 of synthetic resin material which is supported on a bracket 16 for universal adjustment. The back surface of the frame is formed with an outwardly extending hollow partspherical portion 14 having an aperture 15 which may be offset to one side to allow more angular movement in one direction than in the other. The bracket 16 comprises a hollow part-spherical member 17 formed with a pin 18 to project through the aperture 15 of the frame 14 which is held in position by mounting a part-spherical member 19 over the pin 18 followed by a spring 20 and a washer 21, retained by rivetting over the end of the pin 18. The outer surface of the member 14 is formed with a number of shallow ribs 24 radiating from the aperture 15.
