616,799. Radial arm boring machines. ATELIERS G.S.P. GUILLEMIN, SERGOT, PEGARD. Sept. 19, 1945, No. 24205. Convention date, Feb. 28. [Class 83 (iii)] [Also in Croup XXIV] The arm b of a boring machine or other machine tool is held in its adjusted position on the post c by means of an expansible fluid-tight chamber of ring shape surrounding the post, pressure being developed in the chamber in order to expand it and stop the arm without tending to turn the latter. The ring comprises a rigid outer part d adapted to be secured inside the sleeve a of the post c, and an inner part e which is welded to the part d and made of copper, brass or other relatively yieldable metal. The ring is connected by a pipe f to a deformable capsule i so as to form a closed cistern filled with liquid, the capsule having a piston h which is operated by a hand- or poweractuated control member j. The member j may be actuated by a push-rod operated by an eccentric driven from an electric motor, the circuit of which is opened automatically at the end of each stroke of the push-rod.
