Abstract
615,600. Refrigerating. ELECTROLUX, Ltd. Nov. 14, 1946, No. 33794. Convention date, Nov. 28, 1945. [Class 29] In continuous cycle absorption refrigerating apparatus of the inert gas type wherein the vapour expulsion unit comprises a flue tube 10 to which are thermally connected a boiler pipe 15 and a circulating pump conduit 20, the portion of the boiler pipe containing vapour and between the strong liquid level in the absorber vessel 14 and the level maintained by the circulating pump in a stand pipe 17 is thermally separated by insulation 27 from the flue tube 10 to prevent the expelled vapour being superheated. Strong liquor passes from the absorber vessel 14 through liquid heat exchanger 11 to the boiler pipe 15 welded to a flue tube 10 embedded in the insulation 27. Weak liquor is pumped from the bottom of the pipe 15 up the pump conduit 20 welded to the flue 10 into the stand pipe 17 whence it flows into the absorber coil by way of the liquid heat exchanger 11 and a pipe 18. The bottom of the pipe 15 is thermally separated from the flue 10 as is the upper part of the pipe 15 which contains the vapour space. The upper part of the pipe 15 may be thermally connected to the metal 26 encasing the insulation 27. Specification 594,604 is referred tc.
