Abstract

598,845. Uniting by fusion ; soldering. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., PHEAZEY, J. R., and ANDREWS, R. J. M. Sept. 20, 1945, No. 24381. [Class 83 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXVI] Wires 6, 7 are soldered or welded by high frequency current. The wire 6 is threaded through a hollow metal post 1 riveted to an insulator 3 and a wire 7 through a window 5. They are temporarily joined for testing purposes and permanently joined by high frequency current in a coil 8 placed over the post. The post may be tinned and the parts connected by solder applied to the post or by fusion of the parts. An additional wire may be connected to the outside of the post.
