Abstract
595,557. Machinery guards. CAMWHEAT PIE MACHINE CO., Ltd., and COCKROFT, F. Aug. 17, 1944, No. 15754. [Class 80(iv)] In a dough-moulding or like machine, having a horizontal rotating work table 1 and a vertical reciprocating crosshead 2, hinged guard elements 6 are provided close to the work table which on coming into contact with the operator's hand move, through projections 8, pivoted stop arms 9 having projections 11, Fig. 2, thereon which engage with abutments 12 on the crosshead to arrest its downward movement. The stop arms hang clear of the work table and are normally spring-pressed into inoperative positions. The guard elements 6 may also operate, through bent hinge pins 16, switch buttons 17 to stop the driving motor of the machine, and, as shown, are pivoted on main guard parts 4, 4 secured to the machine frame.
