Abstract
594,601. Dish-washing machines. SMITH, S. BRUCE-. Feb. 26, 1946, No. 9811/45. [Class 138 (i)] A dish-washing machine of the kind in which the articles are placed on shelves 4 in a container 16 and are cleaned by sprays of hot water delivered by spray arms 3 carried by a central pipe 2 rotated under the action of water delivered under pressure from a main or by a pump 13 driven by a motor 14 is characterised in that the cleansing liquid is delivered by a pipe J to the upper end of the tube' 2, and in that the tube 2 is also perforated so as to deliver horizontal sprays on to the articles. The cleansing liquid is not re-used, but is finally drawn off via a tap 7 arranged above a grease trap 6. The container 16 is fitted with a door, window and an upper vent, and may be used to store the articles when cleaned and dried, and may be fitted with means for suspension of cups 8. As shown in Fig. 5, the tube 2 may be formed of screwed sections each fitted with a set of arms 3, the upper section being carried by a hinged lid 1. In building up the sections, a shelf 4 is fitted over the arms of each section prior to the screwing in of the next upper section, and the shelves are supported by sectional ledges A, Fig. 4 (not shown). Discs 10 of wire netting may be arranged below the arms 3.
