583,142. Heating by induction. - STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and MADDOCK, A. J. Sept. 29, 1944, No. 18686. [Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A metal coating is fired on to a ceramic base by the use of high-frequency eddy currents, e.g., by locating an inductor coil in proximity to the metal, the ceramic being independently heated by means of a high-frequency electrostatic field. The frequency for the eddy-current heating may be 1 to 5 Mcs. and that for the dielectric heating 20 Mcs.
