589,297. Winding yarns. SCRAGG, Ltd., S. & E., and ARMES, C. L. Sept. 28, 1944, No. 18546. [Class 120 (ii)] A yarn package is tapered by holding it above a driving drum with the axis of the package spindle in a vertical plane disposed at an angle to the vertical plane passing through the axis of a reciprocating bar carrying a thread guide. A spindle C upon which the yarn package is built is held obliquely across a friction driving drum A by slotted arms E, adjustable for length, while a guide G is traversed in a line parallel to the drum shaft B by a bar J.
