Abstract
576,928. Water supply fittings for baths &c. ROSS, D., and FRANKENSCHWERTH, K. May 17, 1944, No. 9466. [Class 26] [Also in Group XXIX] In water supply fittings for baths and the like, each tap delivers from an opening c through a shield or cover d enclosing or concealing the body a of the tap. The front surface of the shield slopes downwardly and rearwardly away from the opening c, the outlet c<1> from which is flush with the surface of the immediately surrounding portion of the shield and overhangs a shallow tapering recess f which is undercut at f<1> behind the outlet. In the form shown the shield d is supported partly by means of a retaining ring e on the tap and partly by an angular back-plate d<1> screwed to a rear support. The delivery spout band the opening c are formed as shallow V-channels in cross-section. The tap has a domed operating cap h, and the shield may be formed with an overflow opening. Each shield may enclose one or more taps, and the delivery openings may be arranged so that the issuing jets combine to form a single jet. The shield may be separate from, or integral with, the bath or the like.
