Abstract

561,519. Rotary cylinder pumps. HEPWORTH, N. J. Oct. 6, 1943, No. 13981/42. [Class 102 (i)] In a rotary cylinder pump in which a rectangular or other piston block 4, guided by an offset pin 8, oscillates within a channel 3 in a rotor 2, the pin 8 is carried by a reversing disc 14 which is loaded by a spring 15 and is mounted between the piston block 4 and the coverplate 6. The spring 15 allows the disc to act as a relief valve under excess pressure, and stops on the cover-plate 6 limit movement of the disc 14 to 180‹ for reversing purposes. The rotor 2 may be an enlargement of the driving shaft 1 which may be driven by a pulley 13 bearing on the pump casing 5.
