Abstract

An antioxidant &c. melting or softening below 80 DEG C., e.g phenyl-a -naphthylamine, wax, or rosin, is emulsified in molten condition in water, and the emulsion cooled to solidify the antioxidant &c., and one or more compounding ingredients, e.g. phenyl-b -naphthylamine is or are added in a finely-divided condition, and the dispersion stirred and added to rubber latex or synthetic rubber emulsions. The process avoids difficulty experienced in grinding low-melting-point substances to a state of fine sub-division.
