Abstract
559,140. Photographic cameras. KODAK, Ltd. Dec. 21, 1942, No. 18131. Convention date, Jan. 6. [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (i)] A concave reflector or other optical member serving as a collective and image forming member is carried by a movable member between the exposure frame and objective in a camera, and forms with the objective part of the view-finder system. In the camera shown, a concave reflector 16 carried by a truncated-conical shutter member 21 rotatably mounted on a pivot 23 forms, together with the objective, an image which after reflection from a mirror 17 at the front of the camera and inversion in a prism 18 is viewed through an eyepiece 19 in the rear wall of the camera. The mirror 17 is provided with a lens element 20. The shutter member 21 is formed with an exposure aperture 22, and on release operation of a trigger 14 is rotated through approximately a complete revolution to move this aperture past the exposure opening by means of a spring 25 operating through gears 32, 36. In a modification, the reflector 16 is replaced by a suitably formed portion of the metal shuttermember 21, and the mirror 17 has no lens element. The inverting prism 18 may be omitted.
