Abstract

556,544. Sheet metal nuts. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. Nov. 30, 1942, No. 17001. Convention date, Dec. 9, 1941. [Class 89 (i)] Sheet metal nuts stamped with a sleeve portion 11 that is tapped for the screw have lateral members 15 adapted to cam into position in an aperture in a supporting member 14 and then spring into the position shown in Fig. 6 in which the nut is retained between flanges 18 anc shoulders 16. The parts 20 are stamped to arcuate form to facilitate entry of the screw 12.
