Abstract
541,805. Eye baths. ROGERS, D. M. and VAGE, C. I. B. May 7, 1940, No. 8196. [Class 81 (ii)] [Also in Group XVII] An eye bath constructed to serve as the closure for a container of medicament liquid comprises a cap portion 1 having a part 4 threaded or otherwise adapted to engage the neck of the container, and a bowl portion adapted to embrace the shoulder 6 of the vessel, which may be formed with a co-operating indentation 7 to facilitate engagement of the parts. The cap portion of the closure may have a stiffening reinforcement 9, Fig. 5, and a knurled metal edge armouring 10. Fig. 6 shows a modified form in which a plug portion 13 engaging within the neck of the container is provided. The bowl of the eye bath is preferably formed of rubber, but the bath may be wholly of glass or other rigid material if it is to be employed in association with an india rubber container.
