[Class 8 (ii)] Apparatus for spraying shoe parts &c. comprises a spraying chamber 10, a fan &c. 78 drawing the unused spray off in an air current, and spray recovery means comprising a top baffle plate formed with a large opening 102 occupied by a hinged panel 104 which can be swung up to expose the second plate for cleaning, and is formed with a large central opening 100. The second plate is formed with lateral slots 108, and the remaining plates with relatively staggered perforations ; the air deposits spray on passing through the openings, and flow laterally to the next set of openings. The side edges of the plates slide in grooves of members fixed to the walls of the casing; the front and rear edges engage sheets of synthetic rubber on the rear wall and the door 96 of the casing. Blocks 112, 114 are provided on the front top and rear bottom ends, and by engagement of one with another enable the plates to be drawn out when the door is opened. The spray gun 20 is angularly adjustable about a shaft and its valve is opened through an adjustable encased cable connected to a sleeve on the shaft rotated through linkage by a treadle 68. Spray material contained in a bottle 26 flows to a cup 120, and is delivered through a cam-operated valve to a hose leading to the gun. Compressed air is fed through a drier and hand valves to an air hose leading to the gun. Specifications 5558/05, [Class 8], and 3194/10, [Class 8 (ii)], are referred to.
