Abstract

537,833. Electric indicating instruments. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES), Ltd., S., and KLEPP, E. C. Jan. 6, 1940, No. 370. [Class 40 (i)] In an electric indicating or repeating instrument having a stator core with lengthwise slots carrying a winding the core slots are closed along their inner sides and open outside to facilitate introduction of the windings. Fig. 1 shows such an arrangement with the coils 13, 16, 17, 18 pressed into outwardly open slots in the core 20. A cylinder 13 of magnetic material covers the whole. The rotor 24 is a permanent magnet, which, for alternating-currents is laminated. The invention is stated to be applicable to instruments such as those described in Specifications 525,092, [Group XXXV], and 529,583. Specifications 410,064 and 430,910, [both in Group XXXV], also are referred to.
