Abstract

534,591. Vehicle brakes. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO., Ltd. (Wagner Electric Corporation). March 20, 1940, No. 5234. [Class 103 (i)] In a rigid shoe drum brake, such as described in Specifications 487,252 and 487,316, in which a shoe 3 is mounted upon an anchor pin 14 through an intermediate member 19, which pivots on the pin 14 and has an abutment surface 16 for the shoe to slide upon radially of the drum, frictional engagement of the shoe with the member 19 is maintained by resilient means such as the leaf spring 21. The intermediate member 19 is preferably carried between side members of a U-shaped shroud member 18 secured to the shoe end and which may serve to hold the spring 21.
