Abstract

522,590. Exhaust pipes and silencers. CHESWICK, G., and WRRIGHT, R. N. Dec. 10, 1938, No. 36046. [Class 7 (ii)] In order to provide an exhaust pipe with flexibility between the engine and the silencer, a number of annular metal discs 11 are provided in the pipe 16, being welded or otherwise secured together in concertina fashion. The end discs 14 may be flanged at 15 for welding to the pipe. In a modification, the edges of the discs are rolled together. Specifications 208,813 and 392,852, [both in Class 7 (ii)], are referred to.
