Abstract
513,749. Soldering and brazing. NSU-DRAD VEREINIGTE FAHRZEUGWERKE AKT.- GES. April 19, 1938, No. 11771. Convention date, April 17, 1937. [Class 83 (iv)] Joints between sockets d and inserted tubes for the frames of pedal or motor cycles, are made by inserting a disc a of solder and flex between the end of the inserted tube b and either the wall of the opposite tube c, Fig. 1 or the base of the socket d in the crank bracket bars, Fig. 3, and heating so that the solder flows into .the gap between the tube or tubes and the socket by capillary action. Brazing may be effected by heating by a flame, or in a furnace or liquid bath. The disc of solder may be stamped out to ring form to reduce the amount of solder. For a tube joint in bicycles 3 grams of solder only is necessary.
