Abstract

512,183. Optical -projection apparatus. EDUCATIONAL & GENERAL SERVICES, Ltd., TRADING CORPORATION FOR, CRAWSHAW, R. P., and GIBSON, F. H. June 29, 1938. No. 19281. [Class 97 (i)] A rear projection unit comprises a pair of interconnected frames, one adapted to house the screen and having a table for the projector proper, the other carrying a mirror for throwing the image on to the rear of the screen, the interconnection between the frames being of a collapsable nature so that the frames may be spaced apart for projection or collapsed on to one another. In the form shown, the frames 1 and 2 are connected by members 26, 27 which are either detachable by removing wing nuts 29 or foldable by loosening nuts 28. The frame 2 carries the mirror 7 pivoted on lugs 8 and adjustable by means of a screw 9 with which it is held in contact by the spring 11. The frame 1 is provided with guides for the translucent cellulosic, ground-glass, or like screen 3 and a slot 6 through which it is slid into them. Pivoted at 12 is the table 14 for the projector. It has an adjustable foot 16 and an adjustable stop 21 to position the projector. A shield 24 has an aperture 25 through which projection takes place. Hinged shields 34 may be provided, and also a cover 35 with channels to engage the edges of the shields and hold them in open position. The vertical members of the frames 1 and 2 may be telescopic or collapsable by folding.
