Abstract
511,499. Non-conducting coverings for heat and sound. SOMERVILLE, T. T. Feb. 17, 1938, No. 4956. [Class 64 (ii)] [Also in Group VIII] A heat and sound insulating mat comprises a mass of fibre a enclosed within a covering b of kraft paper to which rubber solution c is applied on 'its inner surface to position the fibre and to impregnate the paper against damp &c. The fibre specified comprises cocoanut, seaweed, moss, wood fibre and glass threads. A single sheet or separate sheets of paper may be used, and the marginal parts d are preferably extended beyond the fibre and stuck together with the optional addition of a row of stitches close to the edge of the filling. The marginal parts may be arranged in any plane parallel to the mat and may be in different planes relatively to each other. Specification 413,779 is referred to.
