Abstract
515,511. Spraying fusible material COPAS, V, J. A., and METALLISATION, Ltd. May 18, 1938, No. 24833/39. Divided out of 514,914. [Class 69 (iii)] In a metal spraying pistol of the kind in which a wire is fed by an air - turbine to a merting and atomizing nozzle, the turbine wheel 11 is mounted on a shaft 14 formed with a worm 17 driving, through a worm wheel 18. a second worm 19 and two further worm wheels 20, a pair of wire feeding rollers 9, 10 mounted on vertical axes by a chassis 34 separated from the pistol casing by a partition 24. The partition 24 and adjacent part of the walls of the casing form a wire-feeding chamber 25 from which debris cannot pass to the driving gear. The chamber 25 is accessible by removal of the top plate 4 and removal of feed rollers 9, 10. The distance between the feed rollers is adjusted to suit various gauges of wire by a conical member 26 on an axially displaceable shaft 27 in a sleeve 28 extending from the end wall of the casing 1. An external lever 29 pivoted at 30 has an adjustable boss 31 which bears against the shaft 27. A slot in the lever 29 engages a catch 38 to hold the rollers apart at their maximum distance when required.
