Abstract
514,020. Motor driving arrangements; electrically propelled vehicles. PERRIOLAT, E. J. Aug. 26, 1938, No. 25185. Convention date, Aug. 26, 1937. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXXI] In a motor with both members rotatable each member rotates with a wheel of a differential gear train and the satellite carrying disc of the train is brake controlled. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the shaft of the inner rotor 10 carries a sun pinion 1 engaging three planets 2, carried by a disc 4 on a shaft 40 carrying a brake 41, 56, the planets also engaging internal teeth 3' of a member 3 rotating with the outer rotor. The brake adjusts the relative speeds of the rotors and may be spring controlled or adjusted by an electromagnet energized in proportion to the motor current. The outer rotor may carry a vehicle wheel 70 as indicated in Fig. 6.
