[Class 75 (iii)] [Also in Group XVII] In a cigarette-dispensing apparatus of the kind having means for urging the cigarettes successively to an accessible position and an electric heater disposed on the axis of a cigarette in such position, one end d of the cigarette is engageable by the hand of the user to move the cigarette endwise towards the heater e which is automatically energised by this movement. The heater is carried by a leaf spring f which normally keeps it away from a switch contact h. The resistance wire of the heater is disposed in a recess so that it does not come into contact with the cigarette. The current may be drawn from a vehicle or domestic supply system or from a battery housed in the base g of the apparatus. The base g may be formed to stand on a table or be fixed to the dashboard of a motor vehicle and the magazine a may be detachable for use as a pocket case.
