Abstract
490,560. Drying felts of paper-making machines &c. WATFORD ENGINEERING WORKS, Ltd., PARAMOR, J., PLUTHERO, C. P., and BROWN, J. April 15, 1937, No. 10822. [Class 96] [Also in Group XIII] Felts, bands, &c. 14 of paper-making machines &c. are dried by forcing hot air &c. through them whilst passing about a perforated or wirewound roll 10, the air &c. being forced or sucked through the felt &c. through a conduit 22 in the middle or at one side of the machine, and a funnel 16, the upper edges of which may be thickened to face against the roll 10. Two or more guide rolls 11, 12 may hold the felt against the roll 10.
