Abstract

Wool-like fibres are obtained from bleached raw jute fibre stricks by treating with cold sodalye of 14-20 DEG B<\>ae. for 2-8 mins. pressing, washing, cutting and drying. Before cutting, the fibres may be treated with an emulsion. Treatment is preferably effected whilst the fibres are travelling on an iron conveyer belt.
