Abstract

472,241. Eccentrics. MILLS, J. E., MILLS, R. G., JENKINS, J. DAVIES-, and OWEN, T. F. March 17, 1936, No. 8118/37. Divided application. [Class 122 (i)] In an eccentric shaft for operating three or more pump rams through the intermediary of ball or roller bearings 2, 2a, the inner eccentrics 3 are formed integral with the shaft, but the outer eccentric 5 is composite, to permit the passage of the bearing for the adjacent inner eccentric. For this purpose the inner eccentric is initially of a width sufficient to include the outer eccentric and a collar 8 is secured thereon. The shaft is then mounted on the centre C-C and the shaft and collar are then turned to form the outer eccentric, comprising a shaft portion 5 of oval section and a crescent-shaped portion 6 carried by the collar 8.
