Abstract
477,731. Vehicle opening-tops. MORRIS MOTORS, Ltd., and HALL, L. P. Dec. 16, 1936, No. 34540. [Class 108 (i)] In a vehicle having an opening in the roof closable by a sliding panel the opening is provided at the sides with guides b secured to the roof sides a so as to form a drainage channel c and the panel d is connected at the rear to a pair of slides g by links f whereby when the slides g are arrested by stops s in the closing movement of the panel the rear end of the panel d is raised so as to be flush with the fixed roof e. The front of the panel d is provided with slides h which are linked by horizontal links k to a slotted disc m rotatable by a handle n to cause the slides h to grip the guides b frictionally to lock the panel d in any desired position. The panel d may be provided with an extension t to form a weather seal with the fixed roof e.
