Abstract
463,032. Raising liquids by compressed air. GOLLNER, D. Oct. 15, 1936, No. 28043. Convention date, Oct. 17, 1935. [Class 102 (ii)] In apparatus for raising liquids by compressed air, the air is supplied continuously, and produces an ejector action through the vent pipe when the vent valve is open. The liquid enters the tank 1 through a valve 3 and is discharged through a pipe 5. The vent valve 10 is conical and is operated by a float 15. The air is admitted through nozzles 19, 19<1>, which blow along the surface of the valve when the latter is open, and so produce an ejector action and also remove grit. In order to increase the ejector action, the vent pipe 8 may be extended downwards in the form of a hollow cone 8<1>.
