Abstract
461,068. Casting dynamo-electric cores. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Aug. 13, 1936, No. 22342. Convention date, Aug. 14, 1935. [Class 83 (i)] In casting a frame 13 about the assembled laminations 10 of the core of a dynamo-electric machine, the laminations are clamped by rings 17 remote from their outer edges so that these, being free, spread axially. The inner surfaces of the cast frame are defined by mould parts 21 of sand so that shrinkage of the frame axially and radially is permitted. The rest of the mould 20 may be of sand, &c. or of permanent material, provided with a runner 27 and held by boards 23, 24 and clamps 25.
