[Class 112] The invention comprises feed reversing and regulating mechanism for the work-feeding device described in Specification 413,120. The mechanism consists of a control shaft 26 which, when rotated turns the shaft 21 via links 29, 28, 27 to displace the arm 23 relative to the arm 24 and so vary the throw of the feed dog 16. To adjust the feed, the dial 38 is rotated, shifting the projection 57 on the spring plunger 50 by the cam 36, fixed to the dial hy a pin 40, up or down along the lever 32 in the angular opening 53 of the stop plate 52. This affects the extent of swing allowed the control lever 32 by virtue of the angular stop edges 55, 56 of the plate 52. This decreases or increases the movements of the control shaft 26 and consequently the shaft 21. By co-ordinating the graduations in the dial 38 with the pointer 39 in the control lever 32, a definite stitch length for different settings will be indicated. As the lever 32 is swung to the right or left of a neutral position, the feed will be forward or reverse. By employing a suitably shaped cam, the reverse feed may be eliminated. To keep the shaft 21 in set position, a screwclamp brake 60, Fig. 4, may be used. Lubricating. An oil reservoir 22 supplies lubricant to the shaft 21.
