Abstract
458,927. Coal bins. WIMPENNY, G., The Green, Cowlersley, Huddersfield. June 29, 1936, No. 18646/35. [Class 20 (i)] A coal bin 1 is build into the wall of a room and is provided with a sliding inclined rear door 2 covering an aperture through which the bin is filled, and an inner upright sliding door 6 covering another aperture through which the coal is extracted for use. An inclined screen 15 shields the inner door 6 which is wider than the discharge opening vertically and can be tilted to rest in an inclined position about pins 9 in the sides of the bin. The floor is inclined upwardly at 12 toward the inner door to prevent the escape of dust from the bin. A rib 16 surrounding the bin prevents the passage of moisture from the outside to the inside across the hollow of the wall.
