Abstract
455,170. Protectors for soles and heels of footwear. VORWERK, W., and VORWERK, M., (trading as VORWERK & SOHN, [Firm of]), 34 K1, Werth, Barmen, Wuppertal, Germany. Oct. 22, 1935, No. 29110. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 13, 1936.] [Class 17 (iii)] An anti-slip device of the kind which comprises a base plate a of rubber with a plurality of rubber studs a<1> thereon and reinforced by an embedded metal plate b having perforations d for the passage of attachment nails or screws, and also projections which engage or enter the underface of the sole or heel when the device is secured thereto, is characterized by the provision of relatively large holes e<1> in the plate b under each stud a<1> and by extending the rubber base plate and reinforcement outside the studs, particularly in the vicinity of the studs, so that the fixing holes may be made outside the studs. These devices may be made of elongated or triangular shape and attached closely together or spaced apart to the sole or heel of a boot or shoe, more particularly for sports wear.
