[Class 9 (i)] A percussion fuze is provided with at least two centrifugal safety members, one for the striker and one to act as a mask, for example, betweenaprimary detonator and a gaine or the projectile body, one of these members having coupled and movable therewith a locking element which prevents the movement of the other member until the first has moved to a predetermined position. In the form shown, a pivoted centrifugal flash passage shutter 22 first moves out and a projection 29 on its spindle 24 unlocks a second centrifugal member 25, which in its turn swings out and releases a direct-action striker 19 left supported by a pin 58 against a shearing washer 59. In a modification, the striker safety moves first, and the shutter afterwards. In another modification, the centrifugal members and the percussion cap 20 are assembled in a block, which can be inserted and removed from the fuze body as a single unit. In another modification, the shutter or the striker safety comprises two interlocked elements moving out in succession, the spindle of the second one releasing the other safety. In still another modification, the striker safety is a slotted sliding bolt.
